“Do Not Let Them Forget Us” — Sailors from the USS Liberty Navy ship heard these words from deceased shipmates as it returned from Malta (to Virginia) following its attack by Israel in 1967.

On June 8, 1967, the USS Liberty, a US Navy research ship was attacked by the Israeli Air Force.

 

On June 8, 1967, the USS Liberty, a US Navy research ship was attacked by the Israeli Air Force. The crew is entitled to know the details concerning the attack by the Government of Israel and the role of the US Government in the entire affair.

The USS Liberty is the only US Navy ship attacked by a foreign nation, involving a large loss of life and so many personnel injured that has never been accorded a full Congressional hearing.
