Grief Dreams of the Deceased (Part 1 of 2)

Grief Dreams Podcast, Joshua Black

Dreams — the nocturnal manifestations of our memories, hopes and fears are central in the themes of our greatest literature … which begs at least two questions: “why do we dream?” and “what can sometimes fantastical visions and fantasies teach us about ourselves?” To the more spiritual among us, dreams open a channel — sometimes a two-way one where those we dream about are in fact aware of the dreamer — along which we can safely travel the road to self awareness and emotional healing.

Our guest today is the host of The Grief Dreams Podcast, Joshua Black. A PhD candidate in psychology, his area of focus is on dreams of the deceased. Stay tuned, dreamers … you don’t want to miss this one!

Sleep Paralysis – Our Waking Nightmares and Fantasies

Ryan Hurd discusses Sleep Paralysis phenomena with The Unnormal Paranormal Podcast

Ryan Hurd, consciousness researcher and author of Sleep Paralysis: A Guide to Hypnagogic Visions and Visitors of the Night, describes the terrifying notion of nightmares visually manifesting while we are waking! Also covered: night terrors and out of body experiences

With degrees in archeology and Consciousness Studies, Ryan’s aim is to “help bring about a new dreaming culture that integrates the best of 21st century thought with the intuitive ways of knowing prized by our ancestors: dreams, visions and imagination”.

His authored works include Dream Like a Boss (Books 1 and 2), and Sleep Paralysis: A Guide to Hypnagogic Visions and Visitors of the Night. He also co-edited, with Kelly Bulkeley, the two volume reference edition “Lucid Dreaming: New Perspectives on Consciousness in Sleep.”
