Grief Dreams of the Deceased (Part 2 of 2)

Do children understand death the way adults do?

Bereavement is a natural process that we all go through but one can only wonder whether part of it is our own fear of the unknown … the “where do we end up after our mortal time allotment has transpired?” To the more spiritual among us, once we become gifted with the miracle of consciousness, it  transports to a different venue following our physical death– one many of us refer to as heaven — with it’s own set of experiences and realities.

The question then becomes — can dreams of the deceased help ease our melancholy? To our speaker tonight, Joshua Black, the answer is “yes”. But how, exactly? Listen as he shares fascinating instances of how dreams help us reconceptualize our own notions of mortality.

Grief Dreams of the Deceased (Part 1 of 2)

Grief Dreams Podcast, Joshua Black

Dreams — the nocturnal manifestations of our memories, hopes and fears are central in the themes of our greatest literature … which begs at least two questions: “why do we dream?” and “what can sometimes fantastical visions and fantasies teach us about ourselves?” To the more spiritual among us, dreams open a channel — sometimes a two-way one where those we dream about are in fact aware of the dreamer — along which we can safely travel the road to self awareness and emotional healing.

Our guest today is the host of The Grief Dreams Podcast, Joshua Black. A PhD candidate in psychology, his area of focus is on dreams of the deceased. Stay tuned, dreamers … you don’t want to miss this one!
